Orphanage Visit In Petionville
The visit to the Orphanage in Petionville went very well considering we had 36 children and 2 elderly nuns to visit in a short amount of time. They arrived in groups and surrounded us like old friends when they saw us. The little girls welcomed me with a kiss on each cheek and beautiful smiles. The orphanage has been here for 40 years from the information we gathered. It was severely damaged in the earthquake. Enfant-Jesus de Prague has the support of a generous United Nations contingent from Canada to supply its food and water. Santo Clinic took to the roads and made a house call to provide for the medical needs of the group. The tooth brushes and medications were gratefully received. Tim gave one little boy his tooth brush and he proceeded to spend the next 20 minutes brushing his teeth. We will continue to provide medical care to the Orphanage on each of our trips to Haiti.
